Day 1:
Banska Stiavnica
Banska Stiavnica is the UNESCO World Heritage site due very harmonious blending of medieval mining town to landscape around – originaly mining industrial landscape, today green and scenic. Guided tour of the city center will be provided and then you can walk in streets and enjoy nice dinner in recommended restaurant.
Day 2:
Banska Stiavnica – Banska Hodrusa, easy, 9 km
Easy but nice-warming up hike. First ascent to the Cervena studna Pass alonh three artificial lakes then comfortable and almost flat section along on of branch ridges of the Stiavnicke vrchy Hills. Nice meadows, long-distance views and romatic small hamlets are located along a route. Last section descents to medieval mining village banská Hodrusa with many discreet but important monuments of mining.
Car or public bus transportation back to the hotel in Banska Stiavnica afternoon.

Day 3
Hronsek – Banska Bystrica, medium, 16 km
Day begins by car transfer to Hronsek (30 minutes) and visit of famous wooden church, the UNESCO World Heritage site. Hike starts at the church, first couple of kilometers leads along industrial part of the village but then route enters nature, nice forest and meadows landscape. Route zigzags mildly ascending in nice valleys. Second section of the hike leads mainly in forests, with a few nice long-distance view points. Closer to the city of Banska Bystrica forest changes to nice „forest park“. Hike ends in your hotel on the main square of Banska Bystrica.

Day 4
Smrekovica – Ruzomberok, medium, 19 km
Day begins by car transfer to Smrekovica (60 min), high on the main ridge of the Velka Fatra national park. Whole day is mostly descending. Trail leads through spectacular alpine meadows, touching old forest from time to time, offering long-distance views of Central Slovakian mountains. There is old wooden village Vlkolinec, the UNESCO World Heritage site, at the end of the descent. Enjoy walk between old houses in hamlet which looks like Carpathian villages looked a centuries ago. Day end by comfortable gentle descent to the hotel in town Ruzomberok.

Day 5
Prosiecka and Kvacianska valleys, medium, 12 km
Hike begins by short car transfer (20 min), then walking on the bottom of the Prosiecka valley, very scenic and dramatic canyon. Creek appears and disapears, trail is surounded by high limestone cliffs. Chains and and laders helps on some places. Second part is more picturesque and more comfortable, when after walking in nice large meadow trail enters the Kvacianska Valley for a while, visiting authentic wooden saw mills at Oblazy and then, after short steeper uphill comfortable forest road descends to the end of the hike.
This trail introduce very typical environment, landscape character and cultural heritage of Carpathians, mountians which are as wild and rough as nice and scenic.
Day ends by car transport to Tatranska Lomnica (60 min)

Day 6
High Tatra, 13 km, medium
Day begins with a cable car ride up to the Skalnate pleso valley (1.750 m a.s.l.), where hike begins. Hike leads at feet of the High Tatra Mts., almost all day of either panorama long distance views on large part of Slovakia and scenic views of the High Tatra peaks. First half of day is mild descent and then, after short detour to the Studenovodské watefalls and possible lunch at Hrebienok there is mild uphill to the end of the trip, the mountain hotel Sliezsky dom, located in the middle of peaks in elevation 1670 m under the Gerlach Mt, which is not only the highest peak of High Tatra Mts, but of whole Carpathian mountain range.

Day 7
Dravce – Levoca, medium, 17 km
Day begins with 60 minutes car transportation to small village Dravce. Lansdcape is completely different than in previous days – wide large hilly meadows with no steep elevations, comfortable field tracks in open meadow environment. Though route leads in hills, is is almost flat. The last section is comfortable descent to Levoca, medieval historic city with nice main square and many monuments, crowned by St. Jacob’s Church from 14. century.

Day 8
Siva Brada – Spis Castle, easy, 9 km
Easy, but very nice walk begins with 15 minutes car transfer to Sivá brada, interesting travertine mould. Trail continues to Spisska Kapitula, mysterious small town, almost just a street with medieval houses and churches. Then across town Spisske Podhradie up to the Spis Castle, the UNESCO World heritage site and allegedly the largest castle remains in Central Europe. The castle is „the must see“ stop of that day, then hike continues through travertine cliffs Drevenik to Žehra, where the church from 13. century is located (also the UNESCO World Heritage site).
Later aftrenoon car transfer to Kosice, cca 60 minutes.
