The tour starts in Bratislava, one of Europe’s smallest capital cities. You will cross the upper Váh River to the enchanting cliff town of Sulova. Then you’ll visit one of Slovakia’s most scenic peaks, Velky Rozsutec in the Mala Fatra National Park, passing through some dramatic canyons to get there. The second half of the tour passes along the extensive plateaus of the Velka Fatra and Nizke Tatry national parks, offering both long-distance views as well as isolated, romantic scenes of untamed nature. The tour ends in the mining areas of Spania Dolina and especially Banska Stiavnica, a UNESCO World Heritage locality.
The tour is designed for experienced hikers who are well able to make their way through nature, overcome obstacles in the terrain, and handle the changes in weather. Your reward will be to discover some of the most valuable natural areas Slovakia has to offer.
