Day 1)
Dolni Vestonice – Mikulov (12 km / 7,5 miles)
After a 15-minute transfer you will start your day in Dolni Vestonice. The archaeological museum there presents an archaeological dig where the oldest statue in the world, the Venus of Vestonice, was found. It was made by mammoth hunters who camped on the slopes of Palava Hills thousands of years ago. You will climb the hill to the ruins of Devicky Castle to enjoy a great view of the surrounding countryside, and continue through the core area of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, known, among other things, for its spring carpets of dwarf irises. Passing through the village of Klentnice and an open landscape with fields and vineyards, you will come to the Turold Caves and finally to Mikulov, a charming wine town with rich historical heritage. On your way to the town center, you can visit the magnificent Jewish cemetery and the monumental castle.

Day 2)
Valtice – Lednice (12 km / 7,5 miles)
After a morning transfer to Valtice, start exploring the largest designed landscape in Europe, the Lednice-Valtice Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the Baroque chateau in Valtice, the path will take you through vineyards and forests, past Romantic follies and centuries-old fishponds to Lednice. The Gothic Revival chateau of Lednice and the extensive Romantic park are the final destination for the day. In the afternoon take a 15-minute transfer to Mikulov.

Day 3)
Kravi hora – Cejkovice (11 km, 6,9 miles)
After a 30-minute transfer, start your day of walking at the lowest-altitude ski slope in Central Europe. Climb the Kravi hora (Cow Hill) and the observation tower to enjoy the view of the picturesque landscape of vineyards, small wine villages, church steeples and fields. Passing a row of family wine cellars, jokingly called by local vintners The Free United Republic of Kravi hora, you will continue to the village of Boretice. On the way, note the unique monument that the grateful vintners erected to celebrate the wine yeast. Continue to the village of Vrbice, and through the vineyards to Cejkovice, known for its excellent red wines and a chateau hotel located in the former Knights Templar fortress.

Day 4)
Milotice – Kyjov (10 km / 6,3 miles)
In the morning you will be taken by car to Milotice chateau, a fine example of a Baroque noble palace and gardens. You will start you walk through an open landscape with fields, fishponds and forests to Svatoborice, then along the Kyjovka River to the town of Kyjov. This is one of main centers of the Moravian Slovakia Region, an area with its own distinct folk culture that includes living folk traditions, festive costumes, songs and dance, as well as a special way of decorating houses. The main folklore event held in the town is a festival called the Ride of the Kings.

Day 5)
Modra – Uherske Hradiste (12 km / 7,5 miles)
Start your day with a 40-minute transfer to Modra. First you can climb to the top of the local view tower and then continue to Archeoskanzen, and open-air museum devoted to the era of Great Moravian Empire (2nd half of 9th century). You can also visit the largest underwater glass tunnel in nature in Europe, before continuing to Velehrad, a major pilgrimage site. Continue through fields and open landscape to Stare Mesto, one of the main centers of the ancient empire. Learn more about it at the Memorial to Great Moravia, a museum built over one of the excavated churches. After you cross the Bata Canal and then the Morava River you will come to Uherske Hradiste, a city of wine, historic architecture and folklore traditions.

Chropyne – Kromeriz (10 km / 6,3 miles)
Start your day with a 50-minute transfer to Chropyne. There visit the local chateau, an example of the 17th century Mannerism style housing an exhibit of paintings by Emil Filla, a European-class cubist artist. From there set off over the plains of the Hana region. By the chateau fishpond continue to the Morava River. Cross the river and go on to Podzameska garden, where a number of scenes from Milos Forman’s Amadeus were filmed, one of two gardens which along with the Kromeriz chateau earned a listing among UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Through the garden and chateau continue to the main town square and then to Kvetna Garden. Take your time exploring this large Italian-style garden founded in 1664.

Kvasice – Kromeriz (13 km / 8,1 km)
After 35-minute transfer start your day of walking in Kvasice. Walk through the chateau park and continue through an open landscape to the Morava River, which will take you to Kromeriz´s Podzamecka garden, where a number of scenes from Milos Forman´s Amadeus were filmed, and one of two gardens which along with the Kroměříž chateau earned the city its listing among UNESCO´s World Heritage Sites. Through the garden and chateau continue to the main town square and Kvetna Garden. Take your time exploring this large Italian-style garden founded in 1664.

Vsemina – Vsetin (15 km / 9,4 miles)
After a 55-minute transfer to the Vsetinske vrchy hills, start at Vsemina resort going up through meadows and forest to a ridge with excellent views. Passing some scattered traditional houses and hamlets, continue through a beautiful forest to Vsetin, one of the centers of Walachia, a mountain region with distinct folk traditions, cuisine and architecture. If you want to learn more about the city and the region, pay a visit to the museum in Vsetin Chateau above the river.

After a 75-min transfer start your day of walking in the town of Huslenky in the Becva River valley. Enjoy an easy walk along the river on the popular Cyklostezka Becva bike route. End the day in Vsetin, one of the centers of Walachia, a mountain region with distinct folk traditions, cuisine and architecture. Bystricka – Roznov pod Radhostem (14 km / 8,8 miles)
After a 20-min transfer, start off from Bystrickaa water reservoir and continue uphill to Velka Lhota. Note the wooden “tolerance church”. Valachia has always been a country of determined and stubborn highlanders who stuck to the faith of their fathers even when it was illegal. Once religious tolerance was proclaimed by the Emperor in 1781, churches such as this one were built. Go on through a typical Walachian landscape with a patchwork of forest, fields, meadows and scattered houses on the hillsides. Come to Roznov pod Radhostem, famous for its Walachian open-air museum featuring not only traditional architecture, but also living traditions and exquisite local cuisine.

Trojanovice – Roznov pod Radhostem (12 km / 7,5 miles)
After a 50-min transfer to Trojanovice take a chairlift up to Pustevny mountaintop and start walking from there, or you can walk up (+2,5 km / 1,6 miles). Explore Pustevny, a popular resort with special folk-inspired architecture, and continue towards one of the local landmarks, the statue of Radegast, a pagan god, also providing the brand name for a popular beer, so it may sound familiar… Go on to another landmark of Walachia, the wooden chaple of St. Cyril and Methodius on the top of Radhost Hill. This is a special place not only for Walachians. Start descending through beautiful forests to Roznov pod Radhostem, famous for its open-air museum featuring not only traditional Walachian architecture, but also living traditions and exquisite local cuisine.
